Fate/Stay Night

This series was recommended to me several months ago but I have only just now started to watch it. That may be a bad idea with finals coming up, because I really enjoy it. I had been told that the series story was quite confusing and the art style is top-notch, and I have to say that I agree. I don't quite know all that's going on, but the art is beautiful and it's obvious a lot of effort went into each scene, especially the battle scenes. Shirou, poor guy that he is, get's mixed up in a real-world battle royale that's been repeated every decade, and now he and his summoned servant must defeat all 6 of the other pairs in their way to claiming the Holy Grail. Shirou's devotion to justice is admirable, but I can't help but feel this is gonna get him in serious trouble.

The art style truly is different from most other アニメ I've viewed thus far, and I like it a lot. I'm recognizing many different grammar forms now, including もう、ため、なら、なければなりません、etc. as well as many more vocabulary. It's heartening to be able to understand this much now, even if it still sounds like they speak too fast...

Listening 12/2/2019

This was yet another video on Japanese cooking, this time Omurice I guess this shows how much I have to learn about Japanese culture and food in general, but until now I had absolutely no idea that Omurice was simply a shortening of "Omulet Rice" and now feel very ashamed I did not realize that. Either way, it looked delicious, and now I am energized enough to want to try to make this myself! (Even if I hardly ever eat ketchup)

This video was a bit of a new challenge, as they did not have any English subtitles, but only Japanese subtitles. This, along with the explanation also mostly being in Japanese with an occasional clarification in English made this uncomfortable at first, but I decided to try my best anyway. Even though the Japanese was spoken quite quickly, I did my utmost to listen carefully and re-played it whenever I missed a pronunciation. I was able to recognize several words and grammar forms, particularly volitional form. It's nice to also be able to recognize when multiple forms are combined (to the end of て-forms, etc.).
