Cells at Work!
こにちわ！
This fall break, I stayed here on campus. During the endless amount of free time I had here, I decided to begin a new anime I've heard about that just began this past year. It's called "Cells at Work!" or はたらく細胞 H"ataraku Saibō"
This anime's plot follows the daily lives of the different living cells inside a human body, all depicted in human form themselves. Red Blood cells (赤血球 Sekkekkyū), Platelets (血小板 Kesshōban), White Blood Cells (白血球 Hakkekkyū), etc. all work together to keep the body of their human healthy and to fend off attacking invaders, bacteria (shown as monsters) and other health hazards.
This anime has been complimented for how accurately it depicts how the body cells interact, and how the invasive health threats attack the body -some schools have even issued watching the show as homework for heatlh class!
I've watched five episodes at the time of this writing, or about 2 hours. There is plenty of hiragana and katakana writing throughout the show that I'm beginning to recognize the definitions for, even though I prefer to watch subbed material.
I'm really enjoying it so far, and plan to watch the rest of the episodes in the coming days :)
